Arsenal suffered a disheartening 3-1 loss to West Ham on Wednesday evening, leading to their elimination from the Carabao Cup in a lacklustre fashion.

Despite Mikel Arteta making six changes to the lineup that had triumphed 5-0 against Sheffield United over the weekend, the fringe players failed to leave any mark during a deeply disappointing night in east London.

In the first half, the visiting team arguably had a slight edge, but they entered halftime trailing due to an own goal by Ben White.

However, Arteta’s side delivered a dismal performance in the second half, with goals from Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen extending the Hammers’ lead.

As the game approached its conclusion, substitute Martin Odegaard managed to score a late goal for Arsenal, but the damage had already been inflicted by then.
