Brazilian football legend Romario has taken a firm stance against the prospect of Carlo Ancelotti becoming the head coach of Brazil’s national team after his tenure with Real Madrid. Ancelotti, a seasoned Italian tactician, had long been rumored as a potential candidate for the role earlier this year. However, he ultimately chose to stay with Real Madrid.

In the interim, Brazil appointed Fernando Diniz as the national team’s coach on a one-year basis, with the possibility of Ancelotti taking over in July 2024. Romario, who scored 55 goals in 71 appearances for the Selecao and won the 1994 World Cup, expressed his support for Diniz, emphasizing his belief in the coach’s abilities. Romario stated, “In my opinion, the Brazilian national team is in great hands with Diniz. F*ck Ancelotti. I want him [Diniz] until the end.”

Despite Brazil’s recent setbacks in international football, Romario remains a staunch advocate for Diniz. As Ancelotti’s contract with Real Madrid is set to conclude at the end of the season, the football world awaits his response regarding his future plans.
