Following a disappointing Manchester derby defeat, Marcus Rashford was seen enjoying himself at a popular Manchester nightclub late into Sunday night. Manchester United suffered their fifth loss in ten Premier League games against rivals Manchester City, and Rashford had a challenging performance during the match before heading to the well-known nightspot, Chinawhite.

Despite being out past midnight, the England international managed to report on time for Monday night’s training session, as initially reported by The Telegraph. Rashford’s night out appeared to be a pre-planned celebration, but it’s unlikely to sit well with frustrated United supporters and potentially Erik ten Hag.

It seems that Manchester United was unaware of Rashford’s Sunday night plans, although there is no obligation for players to inform the club about such social engagements. The party continued until 3.30 a.m., but it remains unclear if Rashford stayed that late.

Erik ten Hag, who has been focused on instilling discipline and standards since joining Manchester United, has not yet revealed his reaction to Rashford’s night out. Additionally, Ten Hag is currently dealing with a situation involving another English star, Jadon Sancho, whose future at the club is uncertain.

Manchester United is going through a poor run of form, and Rashford, who scored 30 goals in all competitions last season, has struggled this season, finding the net only once in 13 appearances. Given the circumstances, it’s likely that the manager, who is already handling individual cases like Jadon Sancho, will not view Rashford’s late-night activities favourably.

Manchester United’s loss to City has left them eight points behind the top four at this early stage of the season. Ten Hag guided the club to third place in his debut year, and progress was anticipated after another summer of investment, but the team has instead experienced a noticeable decline.

Ten Hag has expressed his confidence in Rashford’s ability to rediscover his top form. The player has had periods of inconsistency in the past, experiencing a significant drop in performance during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tenure, but then rebounding last season.

The Dutchman believes that Rashford will regain his top form and said recently, “Everyone knows the qualities of him. But if the team is doing the right things, putting him in the right places and we’ve seen him coming in the right positions, but he’s struggling, it will pass. Everyone at Manchester United backs him.”

“The team supports and believes in him. I’m sure with that confidence of the team behind him this will change, it will pass. Strikers when they don’t score, they need one goal and they step over it. It will come – he is so experienced. He knows when he and the team are doing the right things, the momentum will come and he’ll be on fire.”
