2023 Ballon d’Or: Meet all the candidates nominated for the four prestigious awards

The front-runners for the Ballon d'Or prize on Monday are Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland. The Kopa Trophy, Yashin Trophy, and Ballon d'Or Feminin winners will also be revealed.

The 67th Ballon d’Or gala is scheduled for Monday evening, featuring Erling Haaland and Lionel Messi as top contenders for the most prestigious individual accolade in the world of football.

Haaland showcased his brilliance with a remarkable 52 goals in 53 matches for Manchester City last season, securing victories in the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup. Meanwhile, Messi celebrated a World Cup triumph with Argentina and subsequently transferred to Inter Miami from Paris Saint-Germain during the summer.

In addition to the Ballon d’Or, the Ballon d’Or Féminin recipient will also be revealed by the France Football organizers. Aitana Bonmati, the standout star from Barcelona and Spain, stands as the leading candidate for this honor, while the English nominees include Millie Bright, Rachel Daly, Georgia Stanway, and Mary Earps.

The Yashin Trophy, recognizing the world’s finest goalkeeper, will also be presented during the ceremony in Paris, featuring contenders such as Andre Onana, Aaron Ramsdale, and Ederson. Furthermore, the Kopa Trophy, awarded to the most outstanding player under the age of 21, offers another captivating dimension to the event.
