The Barcelona vs Real Madrid match is scheduled for 3:15 pm BST on Saturday, October 28. However, due to the UK’s 3 pm television blackout policy, fans in the UK won’t have the opportunity to watch the game live.

This regulation specifically prohibits the live broadcast of football matches between 2:45 pm and 5:15 pm on Saturdays. While many may not have been aware that this rule applies to matches in foreign leagues, its primary aim is to encourage fans to attend in-person matches at stadiums on Saturdays.

Keegan Pierce, the managing director of LALIGA UK & Ireland, expressed disappointment that British fans won’t be able to enjoy the ElClásico this weekend due to the UK’s self-imposed 3 pm Saturday blackout policy.

While supporting measures aimed at boosting attendance in the local football scene, Pierce believes that this blackout rule should be limited to domestic football broadcasts, rather than applying to international competitions, where the affected parties have no say in the matter.

He indicated that this is a topic he anticipates discussing with various football stakeholders in the UK over the next few months.
