Arsenal legend Ian Wright has voiced his support for Kai Havertz to take over the attacking role from Eddie Nketiah, particularly in the wake of Havertz’s impressive performance against Manchester City.

In Arsenal’s recent showdown against Manchester City, Havertz made a significant impact, coming off the bench for the final 15 minutes to help create Martinelli’s goal. Since joining Arsenal from Chelsea for a hefty £65 million during the summer transfer window, Havertz has rapidly justified his price tag by scoring his first goal, courtesy of a penalty, in a dominant 4-0 victory over Bournemouth.

Wright, who has expressed disappointment in Nketiah’s performance, highlighted the pressing need for a player like Havertz, stressing that Arsenal requires a commanding presence in the middle. He firmly believes that Havertz’s inclusion in the starting lineup could potentially elevate Arsenal’s offensive gameplay, offering an enhanced attacking dimension.

Speaking about Nketiah, Wright noted, “If you don’t take advantage of one of those opportunities, you’re a long way off.” Despite Nketiah’s efforts, Wright is convinced that Havertz’s contributions could result in more favorable outcomes for Arsenal.
