David de Gea’s Manchester comeback, supporters rally for him to replace Andre Onana at Manchester United

After Andre Onana replaced David de Gea in July, Manchester United supporters demanded that the team bring back David de Gea.

Manchester United has been urged to reacquire the services of David de Gea without any transfer fee, and an opportunity may have arisen as the goalkeeper returns to Manchester.

The frustration among United supporters has grown as Andre Onana, following his £47 million transfer from Inter Milan, continues to make costly mistakes, resulting in two defeats in the Champions League from their last two matches.

A segment of the fan base is even calling for the 27-year-old Onana to be replaced by the 33-year-old veteran de Gea, who he succeeded in July. Remarkably, de Gea is currently a free agent after concluding his 12-year stint at Old Trafford.

De Gea recently shared an Instagram story that featured a picture of his crossed feet outside a tennis court, with Manchester tagged as his location.

According to The Mail, the Spanish goalkeeper returned to Manchester on Monday, October 9th, to pack up his house in Hale, where he resided for over a decade. His return to the UK follows his marriage to long-time partner Edurne Garcia in July. Edurne stayed in Madrid with their daughter while he took care of matters in Manchester.

The report also indicates that the former Spanish international is not feeling any urgency about his future, even though he is still without a club.

As this news unfolded, a fan on the internet suggested, “Possible short term contract till season ends?” Another supporter pleaded, “Please come back king I’m on my knees.” A third user posted, “You thinking what I’m thinking.” while a fourth chimed in, “BRING HIM HOME!”

Interestingly, some fans noted the irony of the situation, pointing out that de Gea had also struggled with performance issues during his prolonged tenure with Manchester United, despite initially enjoying success at the club.

One reply countered, “Anyone who wants him back at OT is must have forgot how s*** he’s been for the last few seasons.” Another user humorously added, “Lol, please, no.”
