According to a report from Sky Sport Italia, a meeting took place at Napoli on Monday involving president Aurelio De Laurentiis, Rudi Garcia, and other club officials.

The purpose of this meeting was to openly assess whether the French coach is still the right fit for the job. If a decision is made to replace him, it will depend on the availability of potential replacements.

De Laurentiis has reportedly harboured a long-standing interest in Antonio Conte, and another option being considered is former Juventus defender Igor Tudor, who last managed Marseille last season.

Napoli’s recent home defeat to Fiorentina has left the reigning champions in fifth place, trailing AC Milan by seven points.

Rudi Garcia was appointed in June following Luciano Spalletti’s departure, initially intended as a sabbatical before he took the Italy national team job.

Antonio Conte, on the other hand, has been without a managerial role since leaving Tottenham by mutual consent in March.

However, Conte boasts an impressive track record, having won Serie A four times and the Premier League during his career.

Regardless of whether Rudi Garcia continues as the head coach, Napoli is scheduled to return to action on October 21 following the international break with a Serie A match against Hellas Verona.

They will then travel to Germany to face Union Berlin in the Champions League, followed by a highly anticipated clash with AC Milan at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona at the end of the month.
