Elle Brooke, an avid Manchester City supporter, found herself overcome with tears and bearing a bruised eye following her team’s defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

In a rather uneventful match in north London, both City and Arsenal struggled to gain momentum. However, Arsenal managed to secure a late victory in the 86th minute when Gabriel Martinelli’s shot deflected off Nathan Ake, eluding Ederson.

A video shared on Twitter by an account known as “X” featured Elle, who displayed a black eye and expressed her frustration, saying, “Newcastle, Wolves, and now Arsenal, like when are we ever going to win? City are finished!”

This naturally triggered a flurry of responses from fans. One humorously commented, “Imagine what some of these lot would do if they supported United, they do what it’s like to be in the trenches man,” Another replied, “Tears why does she have a black eye like she’s the one that went up against Saliba!”

A third individual remarked, “When I record myself crying about West Ham and whack it on here you’ve know I’ve lost it,” Someone else quipped, “She looks like she’s been tackled by Kovacic!”

Elle had expressed more optimism before the match, tweeting, “I hope that Saka and Martinelli start today, so when we beat their best squad without KDB and Rodri, it shows the levels.”

Manchester City made a stronger start to the game, with Nathan Ake coming close in the early minutes. However, as the match progressed, both teams neutralized each other, and neither City nor the Gunners managed to break the deadlock.

Mateo Kovacic was fortunate to receive only a yellow card for a dangerous tackle on Martin Odegaard, a decision upheld by VAR. However, he later committed a similar challenge that went unpunished.

Martinelli’s goal was the lone noteworthy moment in the second half, as both teams struggled to create clear scoring opportunities.

After the game, Mikel Arteta expressed his delight, saying, “A great feeling obviously, you could sense it’s been so many years without beating them and today we have beaten in my opinion without a question of doubt the best team in the world!

“And we done it in a great way, there were moments we had to suffer, but as well moments we showed real determination, desire and belief to beat them, so really happy.”
