CBS’s coverage of the Champions League has garnered widespread acclaim from soccer enthusiasts in recent seasons, largely owing to the excellent on-screen chemistry among Micah Richards, Jamie Carragher, Thierry Henry, and Kate Abdo.
Their engaging stories have left fans in fits of laughter, such as the moment when Abdo shared a humorous anecdote about her first kiss, which happened behind some trash bins.
Within CBS’s coverage of Europe’s premier competition, there’s a segment called “In the Mixer,” where Abdo quizzes the three former football pros about their personal lives. However, on one occasion, the tables were turned, and the trio turned the spotlight on Abdo.
Abdo faced a series of questions, including one about her first kiss. Blushing with embarrassment, she buried her head in her hands, exclaiming, “But my mum and dad are watching! Oh no!”
Nevertheless, she eventually shared the tale: “It was behind the bins at school. It was private. It was classy and I was keeping it secret… His name was Matthew Barker!”
On a different occasion, Abdo left Micah Richards in a state of speechlessness when she playfully remarked that her “breasts had never been that big” while a photoshopped image of her working at Greggs was displayed.
She disclosed that she had worked at the Stretford branch of Greggs but was dismissed after getting a tongue piercing. Abdo humorously added, “I wasn’t dripping Louis Vuitton quite as much back then…My breasts have never been that big.”
Initially, Richards and Carragher were left momentarily speechless before bursting into laughter together.
