In a historic Champions League clash, Newcastle’s Dan Burn made headlines not only for his goal but also for his iconic dance celebration. After netting the second goal in a resounding 4-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Burn was urged by Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards to recreate his viral TikTok dance on live TV.

The towering 6ft7in defender, who is a boyhood fan of the Magpies, scored a powerful header just before half-time after a VAR review. Miguel Almiron opened the scoring, and second-half goals by Sean Longstaff and Fabian Schar sealed the remarkable win at St. James’ Park.

Following the game, Burn, along with Longstaff, was interviewed by CBS pundits Richards, Carragher, Kate Abdo, and Peter Schmeichel. Carragher and Richards convinced Burn to showcase his dance moves, which he had originally performed in the dressing room at the encouragement of manager Eddie Howe. The dance, characterized by Burn’s free-flowing, gangly figure, went viral in January 2023.

An ecstatic Burn expressed his disbelief at the victory, describing it as a dream come true. He credited the crowd’s support and Eddie Howe’s coaching philosophy for their remarkable performance.
