The Leyton Orient supporter who collapsed at Brisbane Road has tragically passed away.

Fans quickly alerted officials to the medical emergency in the stands on Tuesday night. Eventually, the League One match was stopped as fans entered the pitch to get attention.

The incident occurred during the final 10 minutes of the game, with Orient leading 1-0 at that time. Regrettably, the match did not resume. Referee Stephen Martin led the players off the field, and they did not return to finish the match.

Witnesses at the stadium saw medics enclosing the stricken supporter with a red curtain. The supporter was brought onto the field at Brisbane Road, and doctors and stewards rushed to assist. CPR was administered to the fan following a suspected heart attack.

Orient posted on the X platform (formerly known as Twitter) around 10:30 pm on Tuesday night, stating, “All of our hopes are prayers are with the supporter and his loved ones at this incredibly distressing time.”

Sadly, it has now been confirmed that the fan has passed away. Despite medics reaching the supporter within four minutes of the suspected heart attack, they were pronounced dead near the East Stand.

A spokesperson from the London Ambulance Service told The Independent, “We were called yesterday at 9:28pm to reports of a person becoming unwell at Leyton Orient Football Club, on Brisbane Road.”

“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an incident response officer, two medics in fast-response cars and an ambulance crew.”

“Our first medic arrived in approximately four minutes. We treated a man at the scene, but very sadly, despite our teams’ best efforts, he was later pronounced dead.”
