Raheem Sterling’s £300k theft, three men detained and subsequently let go by cops

Police detained three people in connection with a £300,000 house invasion involving England player Raheem Sterling, but later released them.

The Albanian trio found themselves apprehended during a raid conducted two months after the football star’s mansion had been targeted. The Kent Crime Squad, which was investigating 33 high-value burglaries, executed a raid at a residence in Harlow, Essex, in January.

Henri Osmani, aged 44, Alfred Isufi, aged 48, and Gerard Kalaja, aged 22, were taken into custody and detained for a period of two days. However, they were subsequently released, only to be identified as suspects in the same series of burglaries six months later. Among these incidents was the burglary that compelled Raheem to return from the World Cup in Qatar last December.

Kent Police stated that the trio had been released because the Crown Prosecution Service had determined that there was insufficient evidence to press charges against them. They were granted conditional bail, although it remained unclear whether their passports had been confiscated.

Henri Osmani departed for Albania on July 18, while the whereabouts of his two alleged accomplices were believed to be elsewhere in Europe.

A father of one of the suspects expressed his frustration, saying, ‘They ended up spending two days in custody and were then allowed to go free, but now the police are branding them as wanted individuals. It’s absurd.’

Meanwhile, Albanian national Emiliano Krosi, aged 23, from Southend, has already faced charges related to conspiracy in connection with the 33 burglaries.
