The 23-year-old footballer, who transferred from Ajax to Manchester United for a substantial £86 million fee last summer, has been on a leave of absence from the Premier League club since September 10.
Manchester United has officially informed Sky Sports News that the Brazilian international remains on a leave of absence while addressing the accusations against him.
Antony is currently facing multiple allegations of physical aggression made by his former girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin, who spoke to the Brazilian outlet UOL earlier this month.
The winger has refuted these allegations, as well as additional claims of assault put forth by Rayssa de Freitas and Ingrid Lana.
On September 10, Antony issued a statement saying, a”I want to reiterate my innocence of the things I have been accused of, and I will fully cooperate with the police to help them reach the truth.”
Since the beginning of September, Antony has been in Brazil, where he initially joined the national team but was subsequently removed from the squad due to the emergence of these allegations.
Antony returned to England on Tuesday after cooperating with police inquiries in Brazil and is now scheduled to meet with the Greater Manchester Police (GMP). It is understood that he will provide his phone to the police for examination.
It’s worth noting that the player had voluntarily participated in an interview with Brazilian police back in June, but he has not been arrested or formally charged with any offenses at this time.
