Manchester City midfielder Rodri saw a straight red card for choking Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White during a Premier League match at the Etihad Stadium. The incident occurred just after half-time, with City leading 2-0.

Rodri and Gibbs-White were involved in a confrontation in the corner of the pitch, during which the Spaniard placed both hands on Gibbs-White’s neck. Following a brief VAR check, Rodri was shown the red card.

The 27-year-old’s suspension will see him miss three upcoming domestic fixtures, including an EFL Cup tie against Newcastle United, a league match against Wolves, and a crucial game against Arsenal on October 8. The clash with Arsenal is a highly anticipated fixture, given their rivalry with City and the importance of the match.

Despite Rodri’s absence, City displayed their attacking prowess by scoring two goals in the opening 15 minutes of the game against Forest. With six wins in six matches, City continues their strong start to the season, and Arsenal will aim to close the gap at the top of the table.

Here is the video showing why Rodri got a red card.
