The four-part series, “Beckham,” delves into his life and professional journey. The soccer legend, now 48, reveals that during the late 1990s, when his fame skyrocketed and his England career briefly stumbled, he felt overwhelmed and isolated.

David also recounts the incident when Sir Alex Ferguson famously kicked a boot at him, causing a head injury. He candidly shares that he confronted the Manchester United manager. However, Ferguson acknowledges Beckham’s unwavering determination, stating, “There was something inside him.”

“Beckham” is scheduled to premiere on October 4th.

One pivotal moment in the series takes us back to 1998, where David, at 48, reflects on receiving a red card during the World Cup, leading to England’s loss to arch-rivals Argentina. In a haunting admission in the trailer, he confesses, “I don’t think I’ve ever talked about it, just because I can’t. “I wasn’t eating, I wasn’t sleeping. It took a toll on me that I never even knew myself.”

Spice Girls’ Posh, in the series, discusses the challenges of living under the spotlight and the impact it had on their family of four over the years. She remarks, “It’s really entertaining when the circus comes to town, right? Unless you’re in it…but he just kept going.”

David emphasizes, “I don’t give up easy. I don’t give up.”

Victoria, who met David in 1997 following a Manchester United match attended by the Spice Girls, reminisces about the early stages of their relationship. She reveals, “My manager kept saying: try and keep it under wraps so we would always meet in car parks – and that’s not as seedy as it sounds.”

David humorously adds, “Classy.”

This increased secrecy only amplified the public’s fascination, but David insists, “My life had become something different. It definitely didn’t change me.”

However, the trailer promptly shifts to Sir Alex Ferguson, who acknowledges, “It changed there’s no doubt about that.”

David’s former idol-turned-rival continues to laud him, recognizing that “There was something inside him – that determination.”

David’s mother, Sandra, comments on how his modelling and advertising campaigns potentially diverted his focus from football. She expresses concern, saying, “We were worried that he’d lose all what he’d worked for, cause football come first and all of a sudden it wasn’t.”

His father, Ted, also reveals his approach to parenting, explaining that he refrained from excessive praise to ensure his son continued to strive for improvement. He notes, “If I told him how good he was, then he’s got nothing to work at.”
