French midfield maestro Paul Pogba is now facing a possible four-year suspension after testing positive for testosterone. This development unfolded following Juventus’ clash with Udinese on August 20, prompting Italy’s anti-doping tribunal to provisionally suspend him. Pogba has a brief three-day window to request a B sample. Should intentional substance use be proven, a maximum four-year ban could be levied.

Juventus officially acknowledged Pogba’s suspension and maintained the option to weigh their next moves. Recent Serie A history saw Atalanta’s Jose Luis Palomino handed a ban only to be later exonerated when a positive test was overturned.

Pogba’s return to Juventus from Manchester United has been riddled with injury setbacks, resulting in limited appearances in the league. In an interview conducted just prior to the doping revelation, Pogba conveyed his unwavering determination to surmount adversity.

Pogba had also been linked with a prospective transfer to Saudi Pro League outfit Al Ittihad amid his challenges at Juventus, where he remains one of the highest-paid players. In his own words, he stated, “I want to make people eat their words and prove I am not weak. People can criticize me, but I will never give up.”
