Getafe, Mason Greenwood’s new team, once made a video pleading for supporters to donate sperm so they might sell more season tickets. On Transfer Deadline Day, Greenwood signed a loan agreement with the Spanish team after Manchester United announced last month that he would depart the team.

Following an internal investigation into the accusations of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behavior, and violence against him, Greenwood and United came to an agreement that he wouldn’t play for the club again. The Crown Prosecution Service’s investigation resulted in the charges against the 21-year-old being withdrawn.

The weird campaign

And in 2011, Greenwood’s new team employed an intriguing strategy to increase the number of season ticket subscribers.

The management of the team saw that attendance had been progressively declining, so they made a zombie-themed film imploring fans to donate their sperm in order for the future generation to continue supporting Getafe.

There’s a problem: There aren’t many of us, a narrator announces as the amusing video begins with a sight of an empty stand. Prior to the man’s crotch being shown on screen.

When we next meet the man, he is being given a DVD called Zombies Calientes de Getafe, or Getafe’s Sexy Zombies, at a sperm donation clinic. The adult movie from the 1970s depicts young women swallowing a potion that transforms them into sex-crazed zombies while wearing Getafe paraphernalia.

The implication was that the man thought the film to be so sexy that he had no issue providing sperm. The phrase “The more the better” is shown on a woman cradling a baby before we even realize it.
