25 August (Reuters) Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, stated prior to his team’s Premier League matchup against Nottingham Forest that the midfield trio of Bruno Fernandes, Mason Mount, and Casemiro are not the cause of the Red Devils’ problems.
United played poorly in their 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers and 2-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur, giving them three points from two games.
Gary Neville, a pundit and former captain of the United team, claimed that Ten Hag’s choice to play Mount and Fernandes in forward positions had given Casemiro, who has also come under fire for an alleged lack of fitness, an excessive amount of defensive work.
When asked if the United team was having issues because of their midfield configuration, Ten Hag responded, “You always have to analyze clinically and that evaluation isn’t accurate.
