26 August (Reuters) Inter Milan announced on Saturday that Alexis Sanchez, a player for Chile, has returned from Olympique de Marseille.
Sanchez, who left Inter for Marseille at the conclusion of the 2021–22 season, has returned and signed a deal through 2024 on a free transfer. Last season, he played 44 times for Marseille and scored 18 goals.
The 34-year-old, who has also played for Barcelona, Arsenal, and Manchester United, is Chile’s all-time leading scorer. During his first stint with Inter, he made 109 appearances and scored 20 goals in all competitions, helping the team win the Serie A in 2021.
Last season, Inter won the Italian Cup and Super Cup in addition to reaching the Champions League final and finishing third in Serie A.
