Riyadh: Although Al-Nassr’s night ended with relief as they qualified for the AFC Champions League group stages, the Saudi club’s 4-2 victory over Shabab Al-Ahli of the United Arab Emirates was marred by anger, as seen by Cristiano Ronaldo’s irate outburst at halftime.
Talisca gave the Riyadh club the lead in the eleventh minute, but Shabab Al-Ahli drew even seven minutes later on Yahya Al-Ghassani’s goal.
After pushing a staff member of Shabab Al-Ahli who was attempting to snap a photo with the Portuguese star as the tense and contentious game entered the half, Ronaldo was spotted yelling in the referee’s face as he walked off the field.

Long stretches of the second half saw no improvement, and Al-Nassr was about to be eliminated but late goals from Sultan Al-Ghannam, Talisca, and Marcelo Brozovic salvaged the day.
Since entering Al-Nassr at the end of last year, Ronaldo has a history of letting his anger get the better of him.
He received criticism in April for his behavior against Al-Hilal supporters following the conclusion of the Riyadh derby, which Al-Nassr lost 2-0.
At the conclusion of the game, Ronaldo was harassed by jubilant home supporters who screamed the name of longtime foe Lionel Messi as he went off the field. Then, Ronaldo made a gesture toward the blue-clad fans that many perceived to be vulgar by grabbing his crotch.
Even though there was no proof of wrongdoing, the Saudi Arabian Football Federation did not sanction Al-Nassr’s captain despite a Saudi lawyer called for Ronaldo to be deported as a result of the event.
