Jeremy Doku, a winger for Rennes, has signed a £55.5 million contract with Manchester City. He is scheduled to arrive in the region on Tuesday for a physical.

The Belgian international, who has been linked to many Premier League clubs this summer, is now expected to sign with the league’s reigning champions.

Following City’s treble-winning season, Riyad Mahrez left for Saudi Arabia. Man City is now seeking for a winger to take his position.

Doku would join Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol as Pep Guardiola’s third summer signing if the deal to the Etihad Stadium is through.

Doku scored for Rennes in their inaugural Ligue 1 match against Metz, adding to the six goals he scored in the league the previous year.

What will Doku bring to Man City, according to his bio?
For a young player who is still developing his career, Tom Williams, a French football specialist, said: “It is a lot of money, but in terms of raw ingredients, you’ve got everything you could possible want from an offensive player.

Doku moves really quickly and defeats players amusingly. Although his goals and assists numbers may not be where they should be, you should expect them to improve under a coach like Pep Guardiola. His potential is practically endless.

“It’s a lot of money, but it’s clear why Manchester City believes he’s the one to hire.

Guardiola has a different sort of offensive player at his disposal in him since he is incredibly fast and resembles a vintage winger. He is capable of playing both left and right, however City is more likely to use him on the right.

“He doesn’t cut on the field since he plays mostly with his right foot. He focuses more on getting to the byline by outrunning a full-back outside in order to offer cut-backs. He would add speed, directness, and dribbling skills that City’s current roster lacks.
