Cristiano Ronaldo, who is playing with a chip on his shoulder after going trophy-less in his first five months at the club, has already begun the 2023–24 season, which is his first full season with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.

Ronaldo signed the wealthiest deal in sports history when he joined Al Nassr in January 2023. Despite scoring 14 goals in 19 games across all competitions, however, he was unable to help his new team win any trophies by the time the season finished in May.

Al Nassr came in second place in the Saudi Pro League, losing in the King Cup semifinals as well as the Saudi Super Cup semifinals. Despite having a steep uphill battle after entering in the middle of the season, Ronaldo did finished sixth overall in the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot competition.

As he plays his first full season with an Al Nassr team that has new additions Sadio Mane, Marcelo Brozovic, Seko Fofana, Alex Telles, and Ronaldo’s native Luis Castro as manager, the forward may be in line to score many more goals. Additionally, Ronaldo and Brazilian forward Anderson Talisca, who is also returning to play up front, formed a potent striking combo.
