James Ward-Prowse, a midfielder, has been acquired by West Ham United from Southampton for an estimated sum of £30 million.
The 28-year-old international from England has signed a four-year contract with the Hammers.
Ward-Prowse, who joined Southampton at the age of eight, captained the team that was demoted to the Championship last year and made 410 senior appearances.

“From the outside looking in, this is a club that has been on the rise for a number of years now, and coming off of the success in the Europa Conference League last year, you can feel there is real momentum around this club.”

In an EFL Cup game against Crystal Palace in October 2011, Ward-Prowse made his Saints debut as a 16-year-old. He then made his Premier League debut on the first day of the 2012–13 season.
