Luka Modrić just disclosed a new contract with Real Madrid, where he will stay at least through the summer. However, things are not that great in his Croatia.

The prosecutor’s office in Osijek, Croatia, has charged Modric with providing false testimony during a 2017 trial, according to a report from Croatia’s Hina news agency (via MD). In the case at hand, key Dinamo Zagreb executives were accused of tax evasion and misappropriation in relation to the transfers of Modric to Tottenham Hotspur and Dejan Lovren, who was also accused of the same offense, to Lyon.

Similar accusations were made against Modric and Lovren in 2017 and 2018, but they were not proved. What will transpire in relation to these most recent accusations made against the Real Madrid player is not yet clear.
