Christophe Galtier, the PSG coach, is being arrested on suspicion of prejudice

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Christophe Galtier and his son were detained for interrogation in an investigation into possible discrimination.

Christophe Galtier, the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, and his son were detained for interrogation as part of an investigation into possible discrimination, the Nice prosecutor told AFP on Friday.

The action is the result of an investigation that was started in April in response to allegations that he had made offensive remarks about players while coaching Nice in the 2021–2022 season.

After a generally dismal season in which PSG suffered 10 losses in 2023 and failed to go past the round of 16 in the Champions League, the team’s primary goal, Galtier is expected to be fired by the Qatari owners of PSG.

In April, the charges were initially reported in French media. According to sources that AFP was unable to independently confirm, Julien Fournier, the former Nice sporting director, stated in an email at the conclusion of the 2021–2022 season that Galtier had made disparaging statements to a number of team members.
