As the team gets ready to part ways with David De Gea, Manchester United is preparing a £34.9 million offer for Inter Milan star Andre Onana. The contract for the Spaniard ends at the end of the month, and it is not thought that an extension is imminent.
De Gea had been anticipated to extend his contract with the team, but United choose not to use a 12-month extension clause in his contract that would have increased his pay in light of the team’s Champions League qualification. Despite preserving 17 clean sheets in the Premier League, the former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper made a number of high-profile errors last season.
United is now prepared to part ways with De Gea, and according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, they are putting together a preliminary offer for Onana. The deal is reportedly valued close to £35 million, but Inter will fight for close to £45 million.
