£375,000 PER WEEK… David de Gea to leave Manchester United

David de Gea is expected to leave Manchester United this summer due to his refusal to accept a pay cut from his current wage of £375,000 per week.

After being left off the team’s list of players to be retained for the upcoming season, David de Gea is expected to leave Manchester United this summer.De Gea’s current contract expires on June 30, and he and the club have not been able to reach an agreement on a new one. This might mean the end of De Gea’s 12-year tenure at Old Trafford.

According to United sources, De Gea’s contractual future is looking dismal because the 31-year-old has so far refused to accept a pay cut from his present wage of £375,000 per week. Mateo Mejia, a young striker, and Tom Huddlestone, a player-coach for United’s Under-21 team, are both on the club’s list of players to be kept.

Despite sharing the same contractual obligations as the two, De Gea was left off, which suggests the former Spain international will go this summer. If that is the case, United would have to replace De Gea as the starting goalkeeper and their only options will be Tom Heaton and Nathan Bishop.

De Gea is seventh all-time among United players with 545 appearances, but it increasingly appears as though he has played his final match for the Red Devils.

His season was ruined by a string of high-profile and expensive individual errors, despite the fact that he had won the Golden Glove last season, given to the goalkeeper with the most Premier League clean sheets.
