On Sunday, Alba Silva gave a brief interview to Spanish journalists outside the hospital where Rico was receiving serious treatment. She didn’t provide any other details regarding her husband’s health.
The 48 hours following the accident would be crucial in determining how well he would recover, according to his advisors. The previous day, Silva wrote on Instagram, “Don’t leave me alone, my love, I swear that I can’t, nor know how to, live without you.”
The 29-year-old Spanish goalie, a reserve at PSG and a former player for Sevilla, was on his way to Sunday mass with his family after having just come from France when he was struck by the loose horse. A day after PSG won the French league, he arrived in Spain.
