With daring images posted online, Mikayla Demaiter demonstrated her transformation from ice hockey goalie to goal scorer. Her 2.1 million Instagram followers dubbed the Canadian’s most recent pictures of herself wearing a black mini-dress as “perfect” and “illegal” with one fan calling her “speechless.”
When she was a teen, the Ontario native, now 22 years old, was expected to play ice hockey professionally for the Bluewater Hawks of the Provincial Women’s Hockey League of Canada, Mikayla played goaltending.
Yet it’s believed that knee surgery influenced her decision to turn to full-time modeling at the age of 19. When she said in June 2020 that it was “time to say goodbye to ice hockey” that choice appeared to be final. The response to her most recent photograph also highlights her success as an influencer.
