As he limps off in pain and heads straight down the tunnel against Everton, Marcus Rashford gives Manchester United a serious injury scare. Rashford exited the game and immediately proceeded for the tunnel, passing a young supporter his game-used short in the process. The forward appeared to have gotten hurt when reaching for a high ball.

Then, he was spotted holding what appeared to be his groin. Wout Weghorst took Rashford’s position for the final ten minutes of the game.

Rashford’s fitness will be a concern for Erik ten Hag, especially after the forward scored the first goal and assisted on the second in the 2-0 victory over Everton. With his 28th goal of the year, Rashford is United’s leading scorer thus far.

A big setback if the forward were to suffer an injury would result, especially with the FA Cup semifinal and the quarterfinal of the Europa League on the horizon. Ten Hag criticized the timetable as the cause of Rashford’s injury in a postgame interview.
