Genoa goalkeeper Josep Martinez is on the brink of joining Inter and is scheduled to undergo medical examinations with the Nerazzurri in the coming days.
The Spanish goalkeeper Martinez will undergo his medical with Inter in the coming days before finalizing a permanent €13 million transfer.
Reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport and Calciomercato.com indicate that Martinez’s medical has been rescheduled, originally planned for today.
Josep Martinez is poised for an Inter medical ahead of his transfer from Genoa. Despite the postponement, the deal remains on track, ensuring the 26-year-old’s imminent move to the Stadio Meazza.
Martinez will become Inter’s third summer signing following Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski, who are set to be officially announced by the Serie A champions. Both players will complete permanent transfers to the Stadio Meazza.
Expected to serve as Inter’s backup goalkeeper for the 2024-25 season, Martinez is anticipated to gain valuable experience under Yan Sommer’s guidance, aiming to secure the starting goalkeeper position from the 2025-26 season onwards.
Having spent the last two seasons at Genoa, Martinez made 68 appearances across Serie A, Serie B, and Coppa Italia, conceding a total of 68 goals.
