Arsenal and England are anxiously awaiting updates on Bukayo Saka’s condition after he had to leave the pitch due to injury during Arsenal’s 4-0 victory against Bournemouth.

Gareth Southgate, the manager of the England national team, is set to announce his squad on Thursday for the upcoming international matches against Australia and Italy.

Arsenal’s head coach, Mikel Arteta, is hoping that his star winger will recover in time for the crucial Champions League match against Lens on Tuesday and the highly anticipated top-of-the-table clash with Manchester City next Sunday.

Saka had previously missed the midweek Carabao Cup win against Brentford because of a foot injury sustained during the North London derby last Sunday.

His injury prevented him from participating in training leading up to yesterday’s game.

The situation appeared dire when he suffered significant discomfort while blocking a 75th-minute shot from Bournemouth’s full-back, Milos Kerkez, taking a blow to the ankle.

Fabio Vieira promptly substituted Saka, and the Arsenal medical team will conduct assessments to determine the extent of his injury.

Arteta commented, “I think it was a stamp in the same spot as last week but I haven’t had a chance to speak to him yet.”

“Gabriel Jesus was also limping after the game so let’s see how they both are.”

“I am just thinking about how we are going to prepare for Lens and then City will be the next step.”

Saka, who is 22 years old, contributed to Arsenal’s dominant win over Bournemouth, scoring a goal. Additionally, goals from Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz, along with a late strike from Ben White, sealed the victory.
