Chelsea’s Dietary Discipline: Eden Hazard’s Burger Ban

Former Chelsea player Eden Hazard, who had a tumultuous career journey from Lille to Chelsea, and subsequently to Real Madrid before retiring, was known for his dazzling talent on the pitch. However, it seems that his off-field habits occasionally raised concerns at Chelsea.

During his time at Stamford Bridge, the club took a unique step by banning Hazard from selling and visiting a burger van near the stadium. This decision came as the Belgian star didn’t show much interest in adhering to a strict diet or fitness routine.

Hazard’s career was marred by inconsistency, and even after his blockbuster £86 million move to Real Madrid in 2019, he struggled to maintain his physical condition. Numerous injuries and a perceived lack of discipline saw his tenure at the Bernabeu marked by underachievement.

In June, Hazard and Real Madrid mutually agreed to terminate his contract a year ahead of its expiration in 2024. After 16 years and over 700 games, Hazard officially announced his retirement from professional football, reflecting on his dream fulfilled and the joy of playing in stadiums worldwide.
