Former Italy striker Antonio Cassano has praised AC Milan’s signing of Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid as the best transfer in Serie A this summer.

In a Twitch stream with Viva El Football, Cassano discussed Milan’s summer acquisitions and their opening Serie A match. He described Morata as a ‘phenomenal’ player and asserted that his addition is the standout move of the summer, noting that he offers a unique quality compared to the rest of Paulo Fonseca’s squad.

Morata made an immediate impact, scoring the first goal of his Milan career in under 30 minutes as a substitute during their thrilling 2-2 draw against Torino at San Siro on Saturday evening.

“Milan, in my view, have made the best signing in Serie A with this striker,” Cassano said, as reported by Milannews.it. “Morata has a different level of quality, he’s fantastic. I’m glad he scored as well. Even though he hasn’t had much time to train with his new teammates, it’s clear he’s a special player. He’s phenomenal.”

Milan activated Morata’s release clause with a €13 million fee to secure his transfer from Atletico Madrid.

However, Morata has unfortunately suffered a muscular injury and is expected to miss the upcoming one or two league matches, which is disappointing news for both Paulo Fonseca and Cassano.
