Leicester City have reached an agreement to sign Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp for more than £20 million. The 23-year-old is set to undergo a medical with the Foxes on Sunday. Skipp, who has struggled for regular game-time under Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou, has been a valuable homegrown player for Tottenham, especially important for their Europa League squad.

Despite this, Spurs have softened their stance on his departure. Skipp has made 106 appearances for Tottenham since his debut in the 2018-19 season and enjoyed a successful loan at Norwich City in 2020-21. However, injuries and limited opportunities under Postecoglou, who valued Skipp’s attitude and work rate, have prompted his move.

Tottenham’s acquisition of young midfielders Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray further limited Skipp’s chances. Leicester, facing potential points deductions from the Premier League due to financial breaches, are bolstering their squad despite past spending issues.
