Lautaro Martinez has shared his immense pride in etching his name into Inter’s history with their historic 20th Serie A title win last season. He also expressed his eagerness to continue scoring goals for the Nerazzurri following his contract extension with the club, which was announced on Monday.
The Inter captain and last season’s top scorer has renewed his contract, keeping him at San Siro until the summer of 2029. His new deal includes a substantial salary increase, reportedly bringing his annual earnings to €9 million.
In his comments after signing the new contract, Martinez said, “This renewal means a lot to me; I am both proud and grateful. I want to extend my thanks to the club’s directors.” He added, “After six years here, it means a lot to me and my family. I’m really happy and determined to get back to competing and winning. I aim to give my all in every match and to set a positive example for my teammates.”
Martinez has recently returned to Italy after a successful summer with Argentina, where he played a key role in their Copa America triumph. He was the tournament’s top scorer and scored the decisive goal in the final against Colombia in June.
He believes that his personal growth has significantly influenced his performance on the field. “I have grown a lot, both as a player and as a person. Becoming a father has matured me immensely, and having my family around is crucial. I strive to improve every day and give my best.”
