Leicester City seem to be leading the race to secure Wilfried Zaha’s signature, with The Athletic reporting that the Foxes are in discussions to bring the Ivory Coast winger back to the Premier League on loan. Although Crystal Palace has also explored the possibility of re-signing Zaha from Galatasaray for a third stint, Fabrizio Romano indicates that a return to Selhurst Park is currently off the table.
Zaha’s season with Galatasaray was disappointing; after joining the Turkish club on a free transfer, he made only 13 Super Lig starts and saw limited action in the latter part of the season as his role diminished. With Michael Olise’s departure from Palace, a return there seemed likely, but Nottingham Forest has now also shown interest.
Should Zaha move to Leicester, he will become the club’s fifth summer acquisition, joining Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Michael Golding, Caleb Okoli, and Abdul Fatawu.
Whether Zaha will indeed return to the Premier League remains uncertain, but his exclusion from Galatasaray’s squad for their season opener against Hatayspor suggests that his future may lie elsewhere.
