Several clubs are interested in acquiring Faye from Barcelona, but Ligue 1 side Rennes have taken the lead by submitting a €10m (£8.6m/$11m) bid for the center-back. According to Fabrizio Romano, the French club’s offer also includes a sell-on clause of approximately 20-25%.
Barcelona, however, have requested a buy-back clause in the deal, indicating their desire to keep some control over Faye’s future. The La Liga club clearly sees potential in the Senegal international, who featured for Barcelona B last season and may still have a role to play at Camp Nou.
Faye made his debut for Senegal earlier this year, scoring in a friendly against Gabon. Despite this, he has yet to make a senior appearance for Barcelona.
It seems likely that the young defender will soon leave Barcelona, with Romano reporting that multiple clubs are interested in him. If he shines elsewhere, Barcelona could very well activate the buy-back clause to bring him back.
