Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is known for his creative approaches to motivating his team. Previously, he’s incorporated an olive tree into a team meeting, used a light bulb in a team talk during the “All or Nothing” documentary, and even brought his dog, ‘Win,’ to the training ground. Now, according to The Athletic, Arteta has taken his unconventional methods a step further by enlisting professional pickpockets.

At a recent team dinner, Arteta invited these pickpockets to mingle with the squad, instructing them to discreetly pickpocket the players. After the meal, Arteta asked everyone to empty their pockets, revealing that many had lost personal items. This stunt was designed to emphasize the importance of staying vigilant at all times.

As Arteta gears up for his fifth season with Arsenal, the team is once again set to challenge Manchester City at the top of the Premier League. Last season, they fell just two points short of Pep Guardiola’s side.

Arsenal’s pre-season concludes with a friendly against Lyon on Sunday, followed by their Premier League opener against Wolves the following weekend.
