Kevin De Bruyne’s future at Manchester City has been uncertain throughout the summer, with rumors of a potential move to the Saudi Pro League. Despite this, the 33-year-old midfielder has returned to training with Pep Guardiola’s squad, sporting a bold, slicked-back hairstyle.
Tuesday morning’s training session also marked the return of players such as Ruben Dias, Manuel Akanji, and Jeremy Doku. Manchester City is aiming for their sixth consecutive Premier League title this season and hopes to secure a second Champions League trophy.
De Bruyne’s contract is due to expire next summer. Although City is interested in offering him a new deal, they are proposing only a short-term extension, which reportedly does not align with De Bruyne’s preferences. Consequently, he might leave the club as a free agent at the end of the season.
Having just resumed training, De Bruyne is doubtful for the Community Shield match against Manchester United on August 10 at Wembley.
