Juventus have officially submitted their initial offer to Atalanta for star midfielder Teun Koopmeiners and are now awaiting a response.
The 26-year-old Dutch player is Juventus’ top target for the summer transfer window and is seen as an ideal addition to Thiago Motta’s new project in Turin. Koopmeiners had an impressive season with Atalanta, scoring 15 goals and adding seven assists in 51 appearances.
In May, Koopmeiners agreed to personal terms with Juventus for a five-year deal worth approximately €4.5 million net per season, plus bonuses. However, a deal with Atalanta had not yet been finalized. Juventus had been holding off on their offer until they could sell Matias Soule and Dean Huijsen.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus have now made a formal €45 million bid for Koopmeiners. Atalanta reportedly values the player at €60 million, so it remains to be seen if they will lower their asking price.
Koopmeiners expressed his desire to leave Bergamo back in March, but Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi stated that the club was not considering a sale at that time.
