Chelsea are reportedly in ongoing discussions with Napoli over the permanent transfer of striker Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian, 31, has not played for Chelsea since 2022, following his £97.5 million return to Stamford Bridge. He has since been loaned to Inter Milan and Roma.
Napoli, managed by Lukaku’s former Inter coach Antonio Conte, is now looking to sign him permanently.Negotiations also include the possibility of Victor Osimhen moving to Chelsea on a loan with an option to buy. Osimhen, 25, scored 26 goals in the 2022/23 season, helping Napoli win their first league title in 33 years.However, last season, he scored only 15 goals, and Napoli finished in 10th place. Since joining Napoli from Lille, Osimhen has netted 76 goals in 133 appearances.
Despite Lukaku’s admiration for Conte, Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has dismissed the idea of a swap deal. He emphasized that Osimhen, the top scorer of Napoli’s third Scudetto, is not merely a package to be exchanged.
