Steve Bruce is reportedly in discussions to take on his first international managerial role with Jamaica. The 63-year-old former Premier League manager is in shock talks with officials from the Caribbean nation, following the resignation of Heimir Hallgrimsson last month.

Hallgrimsson stepped down after Jamaica failed to earn any points in the Copa America group stages and has since been appointed as the Republic of Ireland boss. Bruce, who has managed over 1,000 games across 11 different clubs, last coached West Brom until his dismissal in October 2022. His managerial career includes stints at top clubs like Aston Villa, Sunderland, Hull City, Sheffield United, and Newcastle United.

If appointed, Bruce will have access to a talented squad, including Premier League stars Michail Antonio, Bobby De Cordova-Reid, and Ethan Pinnock. Jamaica’s upcoming matches are against Cuba on September 6 and Honduras four days later.
