Roma are reportedly close to finalizing a deal for Artem Dovbyk as they work towards a complete agreement with Girona.
The Giallorossi are on the brink of signing the 27-year-old Ukrainian striker to strengthen Daniele De Rossi’s attack, especially following Romelu Lukaku’s return to Chelsea. With the possibility of Tammy Abraham’s sale, acquiring Dovbyk has become even more crucial.
Despite interest from Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid, Dovbyk rejected the Spanish club last week, expressing his desire to join De Rossi and Roma. He has already settled on personal terms with the club, agreeing to a four-year contract worth €3m net per season, plus additional bonuses.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Roma have proposed a €32m fixed fee plus €3m in add-ons to Girona for Dovbyk, bringing them close to a full agreement. Negotiations are still in progress, and Roma is expected to offer a slight increase to close the deal.
Meanwhile, Roma have introduced Matias Soule to their squad after finalizing a transfer with Juventus, adding a promising young talent to De Rossi’s lineup.
