Raphinha joined Barcelona from Leeds in the summer of 2022 for a reported fee of €58 million (£49m/$63m). Despite being the most consistent forward under Xavi’s management, he has often played a secondary role on the right wing, first to Ousmane Dembele and later to Lamine Yamal. With Barcelona now eyeing Nico Williams from Athletic Club and Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig, there is a possibility they may sell the Brazilian to fund these new signings.
Raphinha has expressed his desire to stay with Barcelona for at least the upcoming season, but according to Catalan publication SPORT, Al-Nassr is preparing to offer a Saudi Pro League record fee of €100 million (£84.5m/$108.7m) to acquire the 27-year-old winger. This fee would help Barcelona meet their financial targets for signing Williams and Olmo. Should Al-Nassr make this offer, they will do their utmost to persuade Raphinha to join the Saudi Pro League team.
An earlier report by Mundo Deportivo indicated that Saudi Pro League champions Al-Hilal are also interested in Raphinha. Highly regarded by their manager Jorge Jesus, Al-Hilal has offered Barcelona around €65 million (£54.9m/$70.6m). However, Barcelona values the Brazilian at closer to €90 million (£76.2m/$97.8m).
Raphinha has been selected by Hansi Flick to join Barcelona’s pre-season tour in the United States, where they will play against Manchester City, Real Madrid, and AC Milan. If a deal is to be made, it is likely to occur after the conclusion of this tour.
