Oli McBurnie has turned down offers that would have tripled his salary to join Las Palmas. The striker, now a free agent after leaving Sheffield United, is set to move to Spain, having verbally agreed to a deal with Las Palmas. Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that McBurnie, 28, will undergo a medical on Friday.

Despite significant interest from Saudi Arabia and Turkey, McBurnie preferred Las Palmas, partly due to their strong relationship with his agency, Stellar Group. He rejected a chance to remain at Sheffield United, opting instead for a three-year contract in Spain. Las Palmas, who finished 16th in La Liga last season, will benefit from McBurnie’s experience as they aim to improve their standings.

He will join notable players like former Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen and Everton’s Sandro Ramirez. Last season, McBurnie scored six goals and provided three assists in 21 Premier League appearances, despite Sheffield United finishing at the bottom of the league.
