Chelsea are reportedly in shock talks to sign Fulham star Andreas Pereira. The Blues have contacted the 28-year-old’s agent, Kia Joorabchian. Having already spent £30 million on Leicester’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to bolster their midfield, Chelsea are now prepared to meet Fulham’s £35 million asking price for Pereira, according to reports.
The Brazil international has a verbal agreement with Fulham allowing him to leave if their price tag is matched. New Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has reportedly approved the deal, as reported by South American outlet Globo. Monaco has also shown interest, but Pereira prefers a move to Chelsea as he is settled in West London. The deal is expected to progress after Pereira returns from his holiday, following his participation in the Copa America with Brazil.
Pereira, who came through the ranks at Manchester United, is seen as a potential replacement for Conor Gallagher, whose contract expires in a year with no extension in sight. Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Atletico Madrid are all reportedly interested in Gallagher. Chelsea have already made significant moves in the transfer market this summer, signing Dewsbury-Hall, Tosin Adarabioyo, Omari Kellyman, Renato Veiga, and Marc Guiu.
