Manchester United have reportedly agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte. Erik ten Hag is keen to add a defensive midfielder after Casemiro’s dip in form last season. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that United agreed on terms with Ugarte, 23, but may need to offload Casemiro or Scott McTominay first. United are still in talks with PSG over the £50 million-rated playmaker and face competition from other clubs.
Ugarte’s agent, Jorge Mendes, also represents Leny Yoro, who recently joined United from Lille for £52 million. Yoro expressed his excitement, saying, “Signing for a club with the stature and ambition of Manchester United so early in my career is an incredible honour.” Joshua Zirkzee was the first signing of the Sir Jim Ratcliffe era at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Mason Greenwood’s transfer to Marseille was confirmed, with the 22-year-old penning a contract until 2029 in a deal potentially worth over £30 million. Greenwood, suspended by United in January 2022 and later cleared of charges, impressed on loan at Getafe, winning their Player of the Year award.
