Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi categorically stated that Atalanta never entertained the idea of selling Teun Koopmeiners, despite reports linking the Dutch midfielder to Juventus. Percassi made these remarks during a press conference on Wednesday where Ben Godfrey, formerly of Everton, was introduced as a new signing.

According to multiple sources in Italy, Juventus have reportedly reached personal terms with Koopmeiners, but Atalanta is holding firm on their €60m valuation and has no intention of parting ways with him. Percassi emphasized that Koopmeiners is indispensable to Atalanta and reiterated that the club has never planned to sell him.

Koopmeiners, who missed EURO 2024 due to injury, expressed his desire to leave Atalanta at the end of last season. Juventus, aiming to bolster their squad and having already signed midfielders Khephren Thuarm and Douglas Luiz, are interested in Koopmeiners as well, with coach Thiago Motta eager to work with him in the upcoming season.
